Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, makers of 5 gum, announced the launch of "Vive tu Musica with 5," an online talent-search competition for amateur, unsigned rock and pop-star hopefuls. Five band finalists will perform with Latin rock sensation Camila at the competition's grand finale, to be aired nationwide, and one grand-prize winning band will receive an exclusive recording session with a top Latin music producer. CMN will be producing the grand finale featuring Camila.

"5 gum is designed to 'Stimulate Your Senses' and there is no better sensorial experience than music," said Juan Carlos Davila, Wrigley's U.S. Multicultural Marketing Director. "We're excited to celebrate the popularity of 5 gum with the Latino community by introducing Vive tu Musica with 5 as a stage for young, talented artists to reach their potential through music."

From now through March 12, musicians are invited to upload video auditions to http://www.vivetumusica5.com. From March 21 - April 10, fans will cast votes online to help choose five finalists to perform with Camila at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., on April 30, and compete before a panel of celebrity judges to be named later. LATV, the nation's first bilingual music/entertainment network distributed via digital multicast, will air the concert as part of a television special that will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the winning band.

To celebrate the launch of Vive tu Musica with 5, 5 gum is also partnering with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, an organization supported by the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Foundation for over 20 years. Five undergraduate and graduate students pursuing higher education in music can apply for the Vive tu Musica with 5 Music Grant consisting of five scholarships worth $5,000 for the 2010-2011 school year.
