Insurance company to sponsor Latino singer

Humana brings GRAMMY® Award winner Willy Chirino, Latina TV personality Lucy Pereda to 2009 Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo

Humana, Florida’s largest Medicare health benefits provider, is pleased to bring GRAMMY® Award winner and Latin pop icon Willy Chirino and Latina TV personality and lifestyle guru Lucy Pereda to the 16th Annual Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo Fri., April 17; Sat., April 18; and, Sun., April 19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Mr. Chirino, Humana spokesman for Florida’s Hispanic market, won a 2006 GRAMMY for best tropical album and was nominated for a 2007 Latin GRAMMY. Mr. Chirino will sign autographs and talk with fans about his music and active lifestyle. Humana health and lifestyle advisor Lucy Pereda will host cooking demos and offer healthy living tips, and, as someone who becomes eligible for Medicare this summer, she’ll talk about how to live life to the fullest during the “third stage of life.” Ms. Pereda hosts and produces the long-running home magazine TV show “En Casa de Lucy,” which airs in 18 countries in Central and South America. Also featured at the Humana expo booth April 18-19 will be Wii bowling, live music and entertainment, prize drawings, information on Humana Active Outlook® and a special seniors’ exercise demonstration by the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program.

The 2009 Annual Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo will be open 2-6 p.m. on Fri., April 17; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sat., April 18; and 12 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sun., April 19. Ms. Pereda and Mr. Chirino will cut the ribbon at the expo’s official opening at 2 p.m. Fri., April 17, and both will be available immediately afterward for one-on-one media interviews. Mr. Chirino will appear on the expo’s main stage at 1 p.m. Sat., April 18 for an interview about his music and his role with Humana, followed by an appearance at the Humana booth from 2-4 p.m. that afternoon to sign autographs and meet fans. Ms. Pereda will appear on the expo’s main stage at 1 p.m. on Sun., April 19, and she will appear at the Humana expo pavilion from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. on Sat., April 18, and again, from 2-3 p.m. on Sun., April 19, to hold cooking demonstrations; offer tips on healthy living; sign autographs; and, visit with fans.

The Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo is the largest business expo targeting the Hispanic market in the nation, and is expected to attract more than 30,000 people. More than 600 exhibitors, including Humana, will showcase their products and services to Central Florida, one of America’s fastest-growing Hispanic markets, with Latinos comprising 18 percent of the Orlando area’s total population. By 2011, nearly one person out of every six living in the United States will be of Hispanic origin.

The 2009 Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo will be held at the Orange County Convention Center, 9400 Universal Boulevard, Orlando.
