Latino fest brings rhythms

Rhythm is gonna getcha at Latino Fest
By Ira Kantor, Boston Herald, August 3, 2009

Thousands of revelers spiced up their Sunday with dancing, singing and other festivities at the 2009 Comcast Latino Family Festival at Fenway Park yesterday.

Organized by the oldest Spanish language newspaper in New England, El Mundo, the event featured live performances from New York-based group Bachata Heightz, Area 51 and salsa sensation Victor Manuelle.

Members of local youth organization ROCA kept the rhythms and crowd energy levels hot, thanks to their dance troupe Essencia Latina. Red Sox [team stats] mascot Wally the Green Monster and Sox legend Luis Tiant also made special appearances.
