Latino Gala to benefit American Latino Museum

2009 Latino Inaugural Gala Benefits Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino
PRESS RELEASE

For those who will be in Washington, D.C. for the Presidential Inauguration, we have some very exciting news: our recently created nonprofit, Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino, will be the beneficiary of proceeds from the 2009 Latino Inaugural Gala, "Renewing America's Promise, Celebrando el Cambio," that will be held from 7:30 p.m. to Midnight EST on Sunday, January 18th, at Washington, D.C.'s historic Union Station.

With Marc Anthony, Paulina Rubio, Rosario Dawson, Tony Plana, War, Cucu Diamantes & Yerba Buena, Elida Reyna, and Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano slated to appear, along with more headline artists and celebrities to be announced soon, the event promises to be memorable.

It is a tremendous honor for the Latino museum effort to be recognized as the beneficiary of the 2009 Latino Inaugural Gala that commemorates the historic swearing-in of the Honorable Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States and the record Latino voter turnout in November. We thank the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI), the Democratic National Committee Hispanic Caucus, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Voto Latino, and many others involved with this effort for this wonderful opportunity for the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino.

Tony Plana, Angela Zavala, and Robert Raben recently signed articles of incorporation establishing a 501c3 dedicated to making the vision of a National Museum of the American Latino a reality. The Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino nonprofit will focus on raising funds to support the creation and construction of a museum.

Click here to purchase your tickets to the Latino Inaugural Gala. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to two tickets per person. We hope you will join Latinos from across the nation in this very special evening that celebrates an historic inauguration and supports the Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino.
