2009 Fiesta Celebration

El Paso, TX-Your El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will celebrate our local visionaries who took the lead, and made the move to start successful businesses during our “2009 Fiesta Celebration.” The annual event will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the El Paso Convention & Performing Arts Center beginning at 6:00p.m. with a Fiesta Reception.
The Annual Fiesta Celebration will culminate with a keynote address by Emmy Award winning news correspondent, bestselling author, and television host John Quiñones.
Through the passing of the years, this event has transformed from an installation banquet for the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors into a true celebration of success of the borderland businesses.

The 2009 Fiesta Celebration, keynote speaker John Quiñones will share with attendees his inspirational story of rising to success as the child of Mexican immigrant parents to become a seven time Emmy Award winning news correspondent and bestselling author.
John Quiñones is the Emmy Award-winning co-anchor of ABC news magazine “Primetime” and has been with the network for nearly 25 years. He is the sole anchor of the “Primetime” limited series “What Would You Do?,” one of the highest-rated news magazine franchises of recent years. During his tenure he has reported extensively for ABC News, predominantly serving as a correspondent for “Primetime” and “20/20.°®
Quiñones has won seven national Awards for his “Primetime Live,°® “Burning Questions” and “20/20” work. He was awarded an Emmy for his coverage of the Congo’s Virgin Rainforest, which also won the Ark Trust Wildlife Award, and in 1990 he received an Emmy for “Window in the Past,” a look at the Yanomamo Indians.
He received a National Emmy Award for his work on the ABC documentary “Burning Questions - The Poisoning of America,” which aired in September 1988, and was also honored with a World Hunger Media Award and a Citation from the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards for “To Save the Children,” his 1990 report on the homeless children of Bogota. Among his other prestigious awards are the First Prize in International Reporting and Robert F. Kennedy Prize for his piece on “Modern Slavery -- Children Sugar Cane Cutters in the Dominican Republic.°®
