Tottenville's Victoria Pontecorvo ran a personal best in the 1,500 meters at last year's Hispanic games.

The feature meet this weekend is the two-day Hispanic Games, which takes place at the Armory Track and Field Center in Manhattan. It's the last major team competition before the Island championships on Sunday, Jan. 18.

The meet has attracted nearly 200 teams from seven states and Washington, D.C.

Varsity competition takes place on Saturday, with freshman/sophomore events on Sunday.

Friday, the NYCHSAA conducts the boys' sophomore Sectional title meet at Fordham University.
