Latino musical legends scheduled to perform

Pizarro: Latin legends will be rocking the Vault
By Sal Pizarro Mercury News 03/12/2009

NBC11's Damian Trujillo is taking "Comunidad del Valle" on the road next week.

He'll be taping the Latino affairs program, which airs at 3 p.m. Sundays, at Vault Ultra Lounge on Thursday.

The swanky dance club in downtown San Jose is a good venue for the show, which will feature "The Legends of Latin Rock." Original Malo members Jorge Santana and Richard Bean (who wrote their hit, "Suavecito") and San Francisco rocker Abel Sanchez will be on hand for the program.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for happy hour, with the taping beginning at 6 p.m. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Chavez Family Vision, which is sponsoring a memorial walk in honor of late labor leader Cesar Chavez; that's set for March 28 at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose.
